THE DIRTY PALE STORY
It's on again - we've made another beer with Bridge Road Brewers!
I always love getting my hands dirty when it comes to brewing the Life in the Peloton beer and it’s always a lot of fun getting the chance to head up to Beechworth to hang out with Ben, Cam, and the crew at Bridge Road Brewers, and have a brew day.
We had a lot of success with the original Life in the Peloton beer, but this time we've changed the recipe. We've brewed a brand-new Life in the Peloton beer, and it’s a tribute to the hazys out there.
I was actually inspired to go down the hazy trail after spending a bit of time in New Zealand at the start of the year, where I took part in the NZ MTB Rally. As well as getting to grips with my DH skills there I started to get to grips with a few different beers in the evenings, and I had a great time getting stuck into some delicious hazy pales.
Having worked so closely with the Bridge Road Brewery guys, I started to get the idea that we should try to do a hazy of our own… The thing was though, that when I was drinking them (and I managed to sample quite a few) I got the feeling that hazy wasn’t quite the right word… these weren't truly hazy, they’re dirty!
I loved the idea of making a hazy, but I also couldn’t resist the chance to go for something a little extra special and try to make what I call a dirty pale! Of course, a dirty pale is named after the colour of the beer, and it took a little convincing to name my beer ‘dirty’… but I also loved the idea that we could do a beer that would go hand in hand with the big one, the Dirty Docker that we’ve got coming up next week! What better way to celebrate our biggest and most fun packed event to date, than dropping a brand new ‘dirty pale’ to mark the occasion!
The beer won’t be restricted to the event, but I’m guessing that there will be a fair few drunk at the Dirty Docker next month. It’s a delicious beer, silky enough to go down a treat after a few hours in the saddle, with that dusty dirty look! I certainly love to drink it and I’m super happy to stock in the Life in the Peloton collection!
