It’s a new week and I’ve got a new episode of Talking Luft, where I sit back and chat all things cycling lifestyle and get to know my guests off the bike.
This week I’m chatting with my Danish EF Education-Nippo teammate Michael Valgren.
He’s a super talent on the bike, having previously been Danish National Champion and also having won Amstel Gold and Oomloop Het Neiwsblad in 2018. But most of all he’s an all round great guy, as you’ll hear.
I’ve got all the usual questions; we chat cap style, headbands, favourite teams, black coffee all day and his best bikes.
This was a lot of fun to record so I hope you guys enjoy the listen!
In case you missed it, I also had an awesome episode over at The Cycling Podcast last week with Robbie McEwen. We talked Racing 101 – sprinting, breakaways, drifting, crosswinds and all the little nuances of racing in the pro tour from the 12 time TDF stage winner himself. You’ll hear a little snippet of that in this episode. I can recommend a listen – it’s full of great stories and gems of wisdom.
Stay tuned next week over on The Cycling Podcast for my yearly Belgian cobbled classics preview with my mate Luke (Durbo) Durbridge.
Until then enjoy a bit of Talking Luft with Michael Valgren.
Cheers,
Mitch

Theme Music
The theme music for Life in the Peloton was composed by Pete Shelley, who was lead singer of the punk band Buzzcocks. It was commissioned by the production company behind Channel 4’s coverage of the Tour de France in the 1980s and was used as the theme music for the nightly highlights show. Pete died in December 2018. We were given permission by Pete’s widow and his manager to continue using the music for the theme tune to Life in the Peloton. To hear more about the music, listen to the Andre Greipel episode of Life in the Peloton.
