Talking L’Angliru and more..
A day after his victory on the Queen stage of La Vuelta a España, I sat down with the King of L’Angliru & my teammate on EF Pro Team, Hugh Carthy.
I hear about that epic climb in his words and how the last 6km played out -what was going through his mind, how his legs felt and how he played it to out-ride the strongest of the peloton.
We then jump into the questions you sent in, hearing about his love for Spain after living in Pamplona, his preparation between the Tour de France and Vuelta this year and he shares his favourite spot around his hometown of Preston to grab a pot of tea.
Plus he gives us a passionate run down of the Preston specialty Butter Pie and Lancashire cheeses.
It was great to relive that epic win and hear more from Hugh about what it meant to him.
If you want to hear more.. go back and listen to my episode of Talking Luft with Hugh from last week. Or head to our episode from the 2018 Giro where we talk a bit of getting in the breakaway and hear about his story coming up racing (from 9:35min).
Enjoy guys!
Cheers,
Mitch
