Talking Luft! with Matt (Whitey) White. Ep 6.

It’s episode 6 of my mini series, Talking Luft, where I chat with my guests about cycling style, culture, training and things outside of racing.

Today, following on from my special Giro d’Italia episode over on The Cycling Podcast last week, I’m chatting with Matt White or Whitey – ex pro and current Sports Director for Mitchelton-Scott.

Whitey is an Aussie and was one of my directors in my Greenedge days. He’s not only spent 13 years directing, but he had a 10 year long career as a pro before that. He rode for teams like US Postal, Cofidis and Discovery Channel, in the true LUFT era you could say.

I was keen to get him on and talk about what it was really like back then. And, as you’ll hear, he didn’t disappoint with some great stories, including some cheeky insight into training with Lance around Girona.

This was great fun to record, enjoy guys!

Cheers,

Mitch
